What's the difference between a
mixture
and a
solution
?
Saturated or Unsaturated?
Solute
- the material that gets dissolved in a solvent.
Solvent
- a substance that can dissolve a solute.
Example
: In a salt water solution, the salt gets dissolved in the water. So the salt is the SOLUTE and the water is the SOLVENT.
Saturated
- a solution that cannot hold any more solute (if you tried adding anymore solute, it would not dissolve).
Unsaturated
- can still dissolve more solute.
